JapanDirect by HDK started with a single conversation. A friend in Malaysia asked me — a Japan-based hobbyist — how to get authentic Pokémon and One Piece TCG products at sensible prices. The local hobby shops in KL marked everything up 40–60% above Japanese retail, and even then they often couldn't get Japan-exclusive sets.
The answer turned out to be Buyee, a Japanese proxy service that anyone overseas can use. But the buying process was full of small confusions: which shipping option, what counts as a real release, how customs works, what the set names actually mean. I kept answering the same questions over chat. This site is the version of those answers anyone can read.
HDK is a one-person operation. I live in Japan, collect TCG casually, and write everything here in my own time. No team, no agency. If something on the site is wrong or you want me to cover a topic, the contact page goes to my personal inbox.
