Frequently Asked Questions

Real answers to the questions Malaysian collectors ask before their first order.

Authenticity & Trust

Are the cards genuine?

Yes. Buyee buys from established Japanese retailers and marketplaces (Yahoo! Auctions, Mercari, Amazon Japan, Rakuten, hobby shops). Counterfeit sealed product is extremely rare in Japan — the domestic market is heavily regulated. For peace of mind, stick to BUY-IT-NOW listings from established sellers with high ratings.

What if my package is lost or damaged?

DHL and EMS include insurance. Buyee also offers optional "Buyee Protection" which covers issues during the buying process. Always declare the true value when shipping high-end product.

Shipping & Time

How long does shipping to Malaysia take?

From order to your door: typically 2–4 weeks. Breakdown: 3–7 days for the Japanese seller to ship to Buyee's warehouse, 1–3 days processing, then 3–5 days by DHL or 5–10 days by EMS to Malaysia.

Which shipping method should I choose?

DHL for orders over RM500 (fastest, fully insured). EMS for mid-range orders. SAL/Small Packet only for low-value items where you don't mind a 2–4 week wait.

Can I combine multiple orders?

Yes — this is Buyee's biggest cost-saving feature. Items wait in Buyee's warehouse for up to 30 days free. Once you have enough, request a single consolidated shipment.

Customs & Tax

Will I have to pay Malaysian customs?

Shipments declared over RM500 may incur SST (~10%) plus minor processing fees. DHL usually handles clearance and bills you on delivery. For lower-value parcels, customs is often waived but not guaranteed.

Should I under-declare the value?

No — we do not recommend it. Under-declaring voids insurance and can cause legal issues. Build SST into your budget instead.

Money & Fees

What payment methods does Buyee accept?

Credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amex), PayPal, and Alipay. Malaysian-issued cards work fine.

How much is Buyee's commission?

Typically 300–500 JPY per item, plus a small surcharge on auction wins. Full breakdown is on our Buying Guide.

What about JPY/MYR exchange rates?

Your card issuer handles the conversion. Some cards charge a 1–3% foreign transaction fee — a multi-currency card (e.g. Wise) avoids this.
