5 Buyee Features Most Beginners Miss

Each of these can save you 20–40% per shipment. Worth the 5 minutes to read.

1. Consolidation (the big one)

Default behavior: each item ships as soon as it arrives at Buyee's warehouse. Bad — you pay international shipping per item.

Fix: enable "Hold for consolidation" in your order settings. Items wait at the warehouse for up to 45 days free. Combine 3–5 items into one DHL parcel and save RM 150–400 per consolidated shipment.

2. Free 45-day storage

Once items are at Buyee's warehouse, they sit free for 45 days. After that, small fees start (and items get disposed after 90 days). Use this window to wait for pre-orders, sales, or to batch up with future purchases.

3. Repack / remove original box

For non-collectibles (clothes, gadgets), you can ask Buyee to remove the original packaging and repack. Reduces volumetric weight, cuts shipping cost.

Do NOT use this for sealed TCG products — the original box and shrink wrap is the value. Always keep packaging on cards and BOXes.

4. Declared value note

You can write a note when requesting shipment. Buyee will declare the actual purchase price on the customs form by default — which can push you over Malaysia's RM500 SST threshold. You cannot legally under-declare, but you can split shipments to keep each below RM500 if items are individually under the threshold.

5. Wishlist + price drop alerts

Add items to your Buyee wishlist. When a Yahoo Auction listing or Mercari item drops in price, Buyee notifies you. Useful for older sets or used singles where prices fluctuate.

Bonus: Buyee Protection

For 5% of item value, Buyee offers compensation if the item arrives damaged or wrong. For sealed TCG over RM1000, worth considering — international shipping carriers occasionally drop boxes.
